Lyttelton Engineering design and manufacture Maxitherm boilers and pressure vessels, with a leading and comprehensive range of steam and high pressure hot water boiler systems, combustion equipment and autoclaves. Our boilers are widely known for their reliability, robustness and their user friendly but advanced control systems. All our boilers and pressure vessels are built at our Lyttelton workshops by our own highly skilled tradesmen, ensuring that we have full control over the quality of our products.
The company produced its first boiler in 1980 and since then many have been produced for locations throughout the north and south islands of New Zealand, ranging up to 20MW in size and utilising oil, gas, wood, and coal as fuels. Our boilers can be configured to burn sustainable fuels such as biogas, wood waste and biomass. Our Maxitherm boilers can be certified to operate as unattended boilers and we have undertaken many upgrades to unattended status for existing boilers.
Our boiler servicing division offers a comprehensive nationwide maintenance and repair service, including quarterly checks, annual survey, boiler tune-ups and system upgrades. Lyttelton Engineering is certified to ISO 9001 for the installation and maintenance of unattended boiler control systems, ensuring that all aspects of the Approved Code of Practice for boilers are met. Staff operate from fully equipped vehicles and are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Portable containerised boilers are available for backup at survey time or during breakdowns, or for dry hire.
